26th Base Post Office, Munich, 1957 (Source: Paul Zale) When you drove up to the 26th BPO distribution center from the street, there was a large locked double wooden gate at the entrance. The left side of the building, as you see it in this photo, had the loading dock for the distribution to the APOs that the 26th served. Trucks would back up to the platform to receive their mail.
